About SEPARC

SEPARC’s Mission

At SEPARC, we believe that reptiles and amphibians are vital to our ecosystems and deserve our protection. Our mission is to promote the conservation of these species through networking, research, and community involvement. We strive to create a world where reptiles and amphibians thrive in their natural habitats.

SEPARC was founded with a simple yet powerful goal: to bring together passionate individuals and organizations dedicated to reptile and amphibian conservation.

SEPARC Task Teams

SEPARC's task teams focus on specific conservation issues related to amphibians and reptiles in the southeastern United States. These teams consist of volunteers who work on projects such as habitat restoration, research, education, and policy advocacy. Each team addresses a unique aspect of conservation, aiming to protect and preserve reptile and amphibian populations through collaborative efforts and community involvement.

Our Parent Organization: PARC

SEPARC is a regional working group of the national organization Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (PARC). PARC unites diverse stakeholders across North America to address the complex challenges facing reptile and amphibian populations. Through PARC's support, SEPARC benefits from a broader network, additional resources, and collaborative opportunities that enhance our conservation efforts. Together, we work towards a shared vision of ensuring the long-term viability of herpetofauna and their habitats.

Each region identifies its priorities and activities. They also work on national projects such as the National Habitat Management Guidelines and the upcoming development of the Inventory and Monitoring Protocol Series. PARC relies on creativity, resources, and donated time provided by each region. The regions offer tremendous opportunities to become involved in PARC and do your part to advance Reptile and Amphibian conservation where you live.
